Hey Creators, listen up! YouTube’s rolled out something big that should make promoting your content in videos way easier with the introduction of YouTube Cards!
Annotations, while a super helpful tool, have become a bit of a sore spot for creators lately. They limit what info you can share and lack functionality on mobile. Because of this YouTube has been working on creating a new solution, and it’s now here with the launch of the cards feature.
Think of cards like an evolution of annotations. With them you can tell your viewers about other videos, merch, playlists, websites and more! They’ve got a polished look and are available any time during the video playtime, and most importantly they finally work on mobile and across screens!
Right now YouTube allows you to choose from six card-types: Merchandise, Fundraising, Video, Playlist, Associated Website and Fan Funding. You’ll find a new “Cards” tab in your Video Editor to create and edit them at any time.
YouTube is hoping these can eventually replace annotations altogether and is looking for as much feedback as they can get on how to improve this service to best suit your interests! So if you’ve got an opinion, drop them a line.

Happy creating!
