After launching in the US and UK last year, the YouTube Gaming mobile app is now live in Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, for iOS and Android devices!
YouTube Gaming is built just for gamers, and the team over at YouTube has looked to the community to help them find the best ways to make this the best destination possible. In addition to expanding to new markets, the YouTube Gaming app has also received updates to improve browsing and viewing experiences, including:
- A simplified new homepage, with the sidebars removed
- A new “Live” tab that takes viewers to a lineup of top streams and games that are on the air
- New pages that allow viewers to manage the games and channels they’re subscribed to
On the Android app, it’s also now possible to pop-out the player so it’s visible over the other apps, and it’s been upgraded to support 60fps playback, DVR mode, and quality switching (already available on desktop and the iOS players).
