Hi James! For any viewers out there who haven’t seen your stuff, tell us a bit about yourself and your IAMJAMESSSS channel?
My name is James and on my channel I do reaction videos to new music videos, tell funny stories, and create pop culture themed videos. I like to be as real and original as possible, while putting a smile on peoples faces.
How did you get started on YouTube? Did anyone or anything in particular inspire you to start vlogging and doing reaction vids?
There was a time in my life that was not the greatest. My home life was difficult. I began moving a lot and I was always the class clown to mask the difficulties going on in my life. I was funny, so I was ALWAYS compared to “ItsKinglseyBitch”. One day I looked him up and was amazed by how someone sitting in their room filming themselves could put smiles on so many people’s faces and make thousands of people laugh. So then I really wanted to start doing that because I love making people happy! Years later, freshmen year, I started my own channel!
You were one of the BBTV Creators at VidCon this year, where you slayed the stage! What was it like? Any moments in particular that stood out?
It was absolutely breathtaking! It was a feeling that I can’t really put into words. I can’t wait to do it again and all around the world hopefully one day
Was it exciting to meet your fans in that type of personal setting?
YASSSS! To look into the eyes of people that I talk to online all the time was a special moment for me. It brought me to tears! I didn’t think ANYONE would know who I was but there were SO many Slayers and I am so excited to meet my other fans soon!
What is the biggest change you’ve noticed since finding success as a YouTube creator?
Friendships. I’ve been learning who my friends are because they like me for me and learning who of my friends like me for my success. But I’m finding out who my real friends are and who are my fake friends!
Do you have a favorite video (that you created)? Why?
My prank calling fans video, because it was the first time I actually got to hear the voices of those people around the world that show me love and support. Without them I wouldn’t be IAMJAMESSSS, so to speak to them was such a rewarding feeling!
What do you want to say to the people watching your channel?
I will keep it real! Sometimes people get lost in the glitz and glam of it all and start to become something they aren’t. I have always said that I will stay REAL and authentic! So to those watching my videos just know, this is me!
What can we expect next from your channel next?
Some huge things are in the works. TV shows (shhhh I didn’t say that). You can expect some hilarious content! I have some REALLY funny video ideas in the back of my head! So make sure you subscribe!
Finally, you’ve already shown plenty of love to pop’s top divas, but we’ve got to ask, who’s your absolute fav?
Ohhhhhhh noooooooo! You’re gonna really make me do this? Hmmmmm….I will have to say Beyoncé!! She is the queen of queens! If I say anyone besides her I won’t be able to sleep at night. Nicki Minaj and Jessie J also SLAYYYY too! 🙂
