YouTube is a platform where gamers are totally free to express themselves. Often times that expression comes across unfiltered, unapologetic and even bordering on unhinged. One of the best ways to get people talking about what you’re doing is by bringing these elements to your commentary, with an energy level that might need a Red Bull or two. It’s about creating an entertainment value in your uploads that is uniquely memorable and fits within a larger brand for your channel. People want to see you’re passionate about what you’re talking about, and they’ll respond to this.
Also try doing something unexpected. You’ll often see gamers trying out-of-the box techniques, such as mocking a truly awful game or completing the hardest levels with minimal equipment. Create a personal touch that goes beyond just showing people how to get from point A to point B in a game or how to beat a level.
While this genre keeps booming, not every channel ends up being successful. It takes some time and innovative thinking to really make it work, but having a plan from the get-go is a great way to get started in the right direction.
