We had the chance to get this Irish beauty icon in our own chair to answer some of our burning questions in the latest edition of Creator Q&A below!

Hi Sinead! Thanks so much for taking the time to answer a few questions for us.

It’s been more than six years since you started TheMakeupChair, what inspired you to become a beauty vlogger?

I actually used the videos at the start to help secure a placement in College, as part of the application for the makeup course I needed to show work I had done, instead of just photos I used videos and it impressed them enough to offer me the placement right away. I didn’t think much of the videos until they started to get build an audience so I kept it up and can’t believe it’s been 6 years.

What does a typical day look look like? How do you juggle your personal life with the demands of keeping your channel updated?

I get up around 9-10pm have breakfast at my desk, looking through emails and replying to comments. I also try to update my social media sites in the morning too. I work at this till about 40 minutes before lunchtime when I typically take a break from work, do a 20-30 minutes workout, shower and have lunch. Then it either time to edit or film till around 7:30. I alternate between filming Sunday, Tuesday and thursday and editing them on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for my upload schedule. I take Saturday and Sunday mornings off so I can have some personal life-time. Hard but every job is the same, I am just lucky I get to work in my own home so I try not to complain. I try to get up early or work late so I can take time off during the week if I need to and change my schedule to make time for everyone in my life.

What do you think is going to be the biggest makeup trends for spring/summer 2016?

I think strobing and dewy skin is gonna come back in a big way, but with some improvement, it’s gonna be all about the skin this summer – glowy, dewy and healthy. With top brands releasing new bronzers, highlighter and instant tans already I can see this being everywhere!

Who do you think are the biggest beauty icons right now? Anyone is particular that you are absolutely loving at the moment?

Taylor Swift, Beyonce and the Kardashian always seem to shine in the summer, they each have their own summer style from vintage Taylor’s red lips and two pieces swimsuits to Beyonce glowing bronzy toned accessories to the Kardashian’s hair and makeup. I look to them all of them for inspiration depending on my mood!

What is your personal fave make-up style?

Healthy looking skin, lots of lashes and lipstick of any colour, Simple but still kind of glam!

What is your biggest piece of advice to up-and-coming makeup artists trying to breakthrough on YouTube?

Don’t watch others, do what you do and don’t worry about numbers. Focus on sharing your own style and try to avoid following the Youtube trends that the “big youtubers” do, it works for them but they have been doing it for a long time, you’ve got to set yourself apart from that and bring something new.

Thanks Sinead!
